Feeling and ground, in that order. You are steady in a way that is not cold — you stay, and you keep showing up, and the staying is the affection rather than a substitute for it.
You are the person a family or a friendship group quietly organises itself around. Very little of that gets acknowledged, partly because you have never made it visible, and partly because you are uncomfortable when it is.
A delta is where a river finally puts down what it has been carrying, and the ground there is the richest anywhere. That is a fair description of what you build. Just remember it took the whole river to make it — the carrying counts, and it was yours.
