Death

You have ended things other people would have kept limping along.

You have walked away from a job, a version of yourself, a way of living that had stopped being true — and you did it while it still looked fine from outside. That takes something most people do not have.

It is not coldness, though it has been called that. You simply cannot pretend past the point where you have seen it. Once a thing is over for you, staying in it feels dishonest.

Death is the most misread card in the deck. It has never meant an ending for its own sake; it means the ground clearing so the next thing has room. You have made that room more than once. It is a strange skill and a real one.
